Andrea Doria, a destroyer of the Italian Navy, has been spotted in Haifa Port. Andrea Doria is a versatile ship designed with a focus on anti-aircraft warfare and short to medium range defense capabilities, but also excels in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare. It is equipped to handle high-performance rotorcraft and wheeled helicopters up to sea state 6 using a semi-automatic Canadian system. The ship is capable of carrying out various maritime operations ranging from high-intensity military operations to humanitarian and relief efforts, including escorting an aircraft carrier battle group or naval convoy, commanding joint and combined maritime operations, supporting national air defense, conducting counter-piracy operations, and responding to natural disasters and crises.
