Economy and Industry Minister Eli Cohen Responds to German Chancellor Angela Merkel

Responding to threat by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to cancel her Israel visit over demolition of the illegal Bedouin outpost Khan al-Ahmar, Cohen said: “If this is true, it’s a blatant, serious, and dangerous intervention, Israel is a sovereign state with a strong and independent court, and we’ve long since ceased to be a tool to salve the conscience of the Europeans.”
