Trans-Arabian Pipeline with Oil Terminal in Haifa Port May Become a Reality

The peace agreement between UAE and Israel may revive one day the Trans-Arabian Pipeline (Tapline) with oil terminal in Haifa Port. The project of the Trans-Arabian Pipeline (Tapline) was conceived in 1947 and initially was intended to transport oil from Qaisumah in Saudi Arabia to Haifa. An analysis has estimated that the transportation cost of exporting oil via the Tapline through Haifa to Europe would cost as much as 40 percent less than shipping by tanker through the Suez Canal.
